If we all did the things we are really capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.

Art of the Possible
Below are promotional rc helicopter acrobatics videos filmed for Rotorcraft by a Midlands Helicopters team pilot by the name of James Platts. James is very much at the high end of the sport of RC helicopters. The helicopters being flown are manufactured by a company called OMP and the models are OMP M1, OMP M2, OMP M4, and OMP M4 Max. The OMP M1 and M2 are ideal for flying indoor at Rotorcraft, and as you will see from the rc helicopter acrobatics videos below, the M1 and M2 can even hold their own outside on a calm day. The larger M4 and M4 Max can and are flown indoor by pilots of an intermediate and above skill level. The sound of the larger M4 and M4 Max can be seriously intimidating when being thrown around by a competition level pilot in a confined space (albeit a sports hall), definitely not for the faint hearted.
All the helicopters below have main rotor blades that can be tilted up and down by the pilot to allow for inverted flight, and for performing manoeuvres that appear to defy the laws of conventional physics. These helicopters are known as ‘Collective Pitch’ and are immensely satisfying to fly when you get it right, they can also be equally dissatisfying when you get it wrong.
The videos below are a demonstration of what RC helicopters are capable of doing. It takes many years to build and develop the skills needed to fly in this extreme style know as 3D. One of the unique aspects and joys to flying RC helicopters, is that you have all three dimensions open for use (3D), the only real limitation is your own ability, imagination, and courage.
